Luther Dale Dozier

Luther Dale Dozier, age 90 of Abilene, Texas passed away on August 1, 2016 in Abilene, TX. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, August 5th at Potosi Baptist Church, 2826 Potosi Road, Abilene, TX. Burial will follow at Gaines County Cemetery, Seagraves, Texas. Dale was born in Dickens, Texas to James Robert and Emerlee (Harris) Dozier on May 9, 1926. He went to school at Seagraves schools, Decatur Baptist College and Texas Wesleyan College. He married Glennis June Payne on July 30, 1950 in Seagraves, TX. He was a pastor for 55 years, ministered on 18 foreign crusades and served as associational missionary in Indiana. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the Army Air Force. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Jess Dozier, five sisters, Cel Mac, Elva Stephenson, Pearl Kennedy, Grace Barron and Dorothy Berryhill. Dale is survived by his wife, June of Abilene, his children, Danny and Lou Dozier of Abilene, Wayne and Rhonda Ausk of West Lafayette, IN, Julie Dozier of San Antonio, TX, James and Tammy Dozier of Mooresville, IN and 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 13 step great grandchildren. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene.
