Lucille Tally, of Buffalo Gap, passed away on April 18, 2009 in Bedford, Texas at the age of 96. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 in the Buffalo Gap Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Lucille was born September 11, 1912 in Beattie (Comanche County) Texas to Lee and Valley Welch (Hodge). She married J.L. Tally on January 1, 1934. She retired from Montgomery Ward's Department Store after 20 years of employment. For 60 years Lucille lived in Buffalo Gap, Texas. She was a Methodist. Known to many as "Granny" and to some as "Auntie", Lucille lived a full and good life, dedicated to her husband and her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, J.L., one son, Harold Lee Tally; two brothers, Ted and R.L. Welch; and two sisters, Opal Tally and Ava Elliott. Lucille is survived by three sons, Larry Tally and his wife Pauline, of Colleyville, Texas, Sam Tally and his wife Sandy, of Hurst, Texas and Kenny Tally, of Buffalo Gap, Texas. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are Perry Elliott, Ronnie Welch, Larry Tally, Jr., Jarrel Tally, Stephen Tally and Cory Tally.
