Lucile Kubena

Lucile D. Kubena, 96, of Abilene passed away on October 11, 2018 in Abilene. Funeral services will be held at 10AM, Monday, October 15, 2018, at Highland Church of Christ with David Mickey of Highland officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetary. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene. Mrs. Kubena was born in Nolan County, Texas to King and Lucy (Haynes) Davison. She graduated from Sweetwater High School and attended Draughton's Business College in Abilene. On February 15, 1945, Lucile married Julius Kubena of Hermleigh, Texas. She was employed as a legal secretary for many years. She served as Past President of the Business and Professional Women's Club, was a Girl Scout leader, held many PTA offices, served on the Board of the Abilene Woman's club, was active in the Highland Church and was a volunteer at Abilene Regional Medical Center. She is survived by one daughter, Kim Harrell and her husband Steve of Abilene, one grandson, Tyler Harrell and his wife, Sydney of Dallas, one granddaughter, Holly Loveless and her husband Patrick of Lubbock, one sister Emma Prim of San Antonio and numerous nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be made to Highland Church of Christ Christian Ministries, 425 Highland, Abilene, TX 79605 or the donor's favorite charity.
