Louise Cole Glenewinkel

Louise Cole Glenewinkel, of Abilene, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at the age of 86. Graveside services, with Don Cauble officiating, will be at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2008 at Elmwood Memorial Park in the Garden of Memories Section. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. today, Thursday, December 11, 2008, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. April 24, 1922, Louise was born in Van Zandt County, Texas to the late James Neil McKay and Lillie (Brooks) McKay. She moved to Abilene in 1953 from Merkel. Louise worked as a Dental Hygienist for the Abilene State School for over 30 years. She was a member of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church. Louise was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, two brothers, and her first husband, J.W. Cole. She is survived by her husband, Gus August Glenewinkel, of Big Spring, Texas; one daughter, Carolyn Martin and her husband Jerrell, of Buffalo Gap, Texas; two grandsons, Larry Martin and his wife Lorrie, of Robert Lee, Texas, and Ed Martin and his wife Maria, of Dallas, Texas; two great-grandsons, Shannon Martin and Chad Martin; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
