Linda Wallis Slabaugh (Super Nana), 67, of Abilene passed away on February 11, 2016 in Abilene, Texas.
Visitation and Rosary will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday, February 14,2016 at Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, February 15,2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Monsignor Robert Bush officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Hamil Family Funeral Home.
Linda was born in Paris, Illinois to Patricia and Robert Wallis on August 29, 1948. She went to school in Sweetwater and graduated from Sweetwater High Class of 1966. She also graduated with her Masters in Counseling and Human Development at Hardin Simmons University in 1992. She married Paul Slabaugh on July 28, 1984 in Sweetwater, Texas. She worked as a Teacher for Sweetwater Independent School District for 25 years, she worked in childcare for 10 years prior to working as a teacher. She was actively involved in an online organization called Online For Life, which is an online pro-life organization, as well as a fraternity at Hardin Simmons. Linda played an active role at Holy Family Church in Sweetwater, as well as Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was also a strong supporter for the Carmelite Sisters at Our Lady of Grace Monastery in Cristoval, Texas.
Linda was preceded in death by Robert Wallis, father, and Patricia Wallis, mother.
Linda is Survived by Paul Slabaugh, Husband, Amanda, Daughter, and her Husband Chris Gazalski, Robert Slabaugh, Son, and his Wife April. Laura Headstream, Sister, and her husband Jimmy, and Robert Wallis, Brother, and his wife Darlene. Grandchildren include. Carson, Luke, and Madelynn Gazalski, Bradyn and Kaylene Slabaugh.
Pallbearers will be Robert Slabaugh, Robert Wallis, Jimmy Headstream, Chris Gazalski, David Baker, B.J. Kehres.
