Linda Newhouse

Linda June Newhouse, 83, passed away on February 16, 2023 at 3:50 am in Abilene, TX.

Linda was born in Knox City, TX to Clyde and Dorcas Walker on October 15, 1939. She graduated from Weinert High School and completed two years at Abilene Christian University.  There she met the love of her life Don Newhouse. The two met January 1st, 1962 engaged February 1st, and later married June 1st that same year. As they would say, it was love at first sight. They were blessed with 2 daughters, Karla and Lisa.  Linda worked for Sears Methodist Retirement Center for roughly 15 years. She was very involved in the church and her community. Some of her favorite past times were shopping, playing games and puzzles, going to lunch with friends, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Everyone admired her welcoming embrace. She was known and loved by many, but those who loved her most called her Tutu.

Linda was preceeded in death by her mother and father.

Linda is survived by her husband Don Newhouse; her daughter Karla Boone and husband Larry, and daughter Lisa Janssen; her grandchildren Dustin Janssen, Kelsey Ishmael and husband Ryan, Shelby Noguchi and husband Jeff, and Carson Boone and wife Addison; and her great grandchildren Sakura, Raijin, Alchemy, and Thorin Noguchi, River and Shade Ishmael, and Denver Boone.

Pallbearers will be Pat Barton, Carson Boone, Larry Boone, John Braden, Ryan Ishmael, and Jeff Noguchi.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Meals on Wheels or Timothy Hill Ranch.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 21, 2023,  at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road,  Abilene. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park.
