Linda Marie Crook

Linda Marie Crook, 70, passed away peacefully at Abilene Regional Medical Center in Abilene, Texas, on Monday, December 12, 2016, after an eight-year battle with cancer. She was surrounded by family and friends. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 15th at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church with Rev. Adam Droll officiating. A reception lunch will follow in the church hall. Arrangements are being made by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. Linda was born in Elmira, New York on September 18, 1946 and moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa, where she lived until October of last year. Linda graduated from Mount Lorreto Academy in Council Bluffs and worked for many years as a Beautician. She loved traveling with her husband John, singing and dancing. She loved all animals great and small. Most of all she loved her family and her many friends. Linda will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, sweet nature and magnetic personality. Linda was preceded in death by her father Harold Willis, mother Kathleen Lierman, stepfather John Lierman, and husband John Crook. Linda is survived by her children, son Darrin Martin of Dallas, Texas, and daughter Veronica Martin of Council Bluffs, Iowa; sister Judy Colvin of Abilene, Texas; niece Raquel Dixon and husband Kevin of Midland, Texas; nephew Jim Colvin and wife Tracy and children Shelby, Tres, Carley and Brazos all of Uvalde, Texas. Survivors also include many aunts, uncles and cousins. The family would like to thank Dr. Anton Melnyk and Hospice of the Big Country for so much loving care for Linda and her family.
