Linda Cantrell, 63, went home to be with her mother and Jesus on Sunday, April 13, 2014.
Visitation will be 6:00 – 9:00 pm, Tuesday, April 15 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd., Abilene, Texas.
Her celebration of life will be at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, April 16 at Beltway Park Baptist Church Chapel with Rudy Fambrough and Jimmy Griffith officiating. Burial will follow at Tye Cemetery.
Linda was born in Abilene, Texas to Weldon and Dorothy Morris on September 16, 1950. She went to school at Tye Elementary and Abilene High School. She married Joe Cantrell on July 14, 1967 in Merkel, Texas. For 23 years, Linda was an Executive Sales Representative for Sherry Taylor at Sunshine Advertising. She loved working with her Christian family and with all her brothers and sisters in Christ.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy Lee Morris and Weldon Scott Morris.
Linda is survived by her husband, Joe Cantrell; her youngest son, Scottie James Cantrell and wife Tina, and eldest son, Joseph Paul Cantrell and partner Ted Harris; her grandchildren, Cierra, Trystian, Elizabeth, and Valarie.
Pallbearers will be: Scottie Cantrell, Paul Cantrell, Bill Seighman, Bill Sikorski, Ricky Wheat, Gale Cheatham, Aaron Certa, and Tony Blessing.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Joel Griffith, Larry Taylor, Jude Tamplain, Ted Harris, and Mike Armstrong.
Memorials may be given to American Cancer Society, 3402 N. 1st St., Suite 102, Abilene, Texas 79603 in honor of Linda Gail Cantrell.
The family of Linda Cantrell wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Aks and Hendrick Medical Center, Belmont Baptist Church, and Beltway Park Baptist Church. Also a special thanks to the nurses on the 7th floor cancer wing at Hendrick.
