Linda Campbell

Linda Carol Campbell, 80, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at her home in Abilene, Texas.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at Albany Cemetery in Albany, Texas. Arrangements are with The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd., Abilene, Texas 79606.

Linda was born in Dallas, Texas to Clyde L. Leggett and Thelma (Woodall) Leggett on November 2, 1944. She graduated from Albany High School and went to work at the Timex Watch Factory in Abilene, Texas. While living in Abilene, Linda met the love of her life, Richard L. Campbell, in 1964. The couple married on May 15, 1965 in Albany, Texas and shared 59 ½ wonderful years together. Richard just passed away this past February and now they are reunited together for eternity in Heaven.

Linda had a love for fashion, jewelry, and enjoyed working in women's retail for many years while living in Brownwood, Texas and Sweetwater, Texas. She loved music and would listen to many genres of music while cleaning house on the weekends. Linda loved collecting many things including pig decorations, dolls and talking about the history of dolls throughout the years. She would later work for Dr. Rex Anderson's office in Abilene, Texas. Linda loved to take care of her elderly family members and friends from church. She took great pride in writing cards, letters and calling those she loved. Her fondest memories are the many cross-country trips, driving she would take with Richard after they both retired; she loved to travel.

Linda and Richard were both members of Oldham Lane Church of Christ in Abilene, Texas.

Survivors include an only son, Todd Campbell of Greenville, Texas. One sister, Melissa Dotson of Gladewater, Texas.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband Richard L. Campbell, sister Dolores White, brother Fred Leggett, brother Butch Leggett, and her parents Clyde and Thelma Leggett.

The family wishes to extend thanks and gratitude to Scot and Mindy Holster of Abilene Texas, special neighbors and dear friends who always loved and cared for Linda and Richard.
