Lillie Price

Lillie Marie Price, 92, of Abilene, passed away on August 16, 2024.

Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at the Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, followed by funeral services at 1:00 p.m. at the Hamil Family Funeral Chapel with Dr. John Whitten of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. in Ross Cemetery, Baird, TX. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.

Lillie was born in Cooke County, Texas on September 18, 1931 to John and Monte (Roberts) Peyrot. She grew up near Gainesville, TX, graduating from Era High School in 1951. She moved to Abilene in 1955 where she met Homer Donald “Don” Price. They were married March 1, 1959 at Corinth Baptist Church in Abilene.

Lillie’s faith in God persevered through the storms of life and we rejoice that she is now with her Creator. Her life was a living example of Galatians 5:22 “...the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control”. Even as dementia began to claim her memories, she never lost her gentle demeanor or her devotion to family. Lillie was loved and respected by all who knew her.

Survivors include children, Brenda Prince of Gainesville, Texas; Donna Davis and husband Todd of Saginaw, Texas; Chris Price and wife Marlene of Flower Mound, Texas; grandchildren Jeff Prince and wife Deanna of Ovalo, Texas; Aimee Prince of Abilene; Matthew Davis and Bethany Davis both of Saginaw; Jake Price and Luke Price both of Flower Mound. Great-grandchildren are Lane Prince of Owasso, Oklahoma, Tucker Prince of Abilene, Riley Prince of Ovalo, Chrissy Prince of Abilene, and Weston Prince of Abilene. She is also survived by siblings, Mary Ellen West, Elizabeth Perry and James Peyrot.

Lillie was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Donald Price, in 2018. She was also predeceased by her parents, John and Monte Peyrot, and by siblings Hilda Wilson, George Peyrot, Sam Peyrot, Ann Wharton, B.T. Peyrot, Henry Peyrot, David Peyrot, H.C. Peyrot, and Andrew Peyrot.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Prince, Tucker Prince, Jake Price, Luke Price, Matthew Davis, and Todd Davis.
