Leslie Ann Frazier, 54, passed peacefully from this life in her sleep at her home near Chapel Hill, North Carolina on Thursday, May 28, 2009. Leslie was born in Austin, Texas on April 26, 1955 to Bill and Jerry Wright. The family moved to Abilene, Texas when Leslie was a year old. She attended Abilene Christian Schools, graduating from Abilene Christian High School in 1973. She attended Abilene Christian University. She was baptized into Christ at a young age at a church camp near Brownwood, Texas. She was a member of Hillcrest Church of Christ. She married Stephen Curtis Merritt in Abilene on May 6, 1977. To this union were born two sons, Sean Michael Merritt and Curtis James Merritt. Stephen passed away December 28, 1994. Leslie married Bobby Joe Frazier at Chapel Hill, North Carolina on May 14, 1999. Leslie obtained her nursing license from Alamance County Community College North Carolina in 1994. She was a dedicated nurse to many home health care patients. Leslie worked for the University of North Carolina Hospital Home Health Agency as a senior nurse. She loved being a nurse, and was a very compassionate one. Survivors include her husband Bobby Joe Frazier, two sons, 1st Lt. Sean Merritt serving in the US Navy, his wife Shanna and son Bradley Michael, age 1 ½ of Oak Harbor, Washington; and Curtis Merritt, a 3rd year medical student at Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, his wife Amanda and baby daughter Kaybree Jane, age 6 months of Keller, Texas; parents Bill and Jerry Wright of Abilene; brothers Alan Wright and daughter Whitney of Abilene; Gary Wright and wife Leah, children Chase and Courtney Ubernosky, Cassie and Caylen Wright of Joshua, Texas; Chad Wright and wife Lauren, daughters Ashleigh, Bridgette and Cailee of Seagraves, Texas. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 at the Hillcrest Church of Christ chapel at 650 East Ambler, Abilene. The funeral service will be Tuesday morning at 10:00 at the Hillcrest Church of Christ auditorium, 650 East Ambler. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
