Leslie Dean Stover

April 1, 1957 — January 9, 2024

Leslie Dean Stover, 66, of Abilene, left this world for his eternal home in Heaven on January 9, 2024 in Abilene.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, January 28th, 2024 at Hamil Family Funeral Home with James Greer officiating.  Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.

Les was born in Oklahoma City, OK to Huber Lee Stover and Grettena Juanita Hendricks Stover on April 1st, 1957.  He graduated from Abilene High School in 1975. He married Teri Cox on October 3, 1981 in Abilene. Les worked as a machinist at both Hartmann Brothers and Lockheed before going to work for Arrow Ford where he worked as a diesel technician for 20 years.

Anybody who knew Les knew he was an avid sports fan. His favorite football teams were the OU Sooners and the Miami Dolphins and he loved the Texas Rangers but his favorite teams to watch were those of his two grandsons, Carter and Greyson. He loved watching them play baseball. You could always find him intently watching every move and see how happy he was when one of them got a great hit or made a really good play. It brought back memories of him watching their mom playing softball from the time she could hold a bat all through high school at Wylie and at HSU. He was there for all of it. There was never a prouder father. Les also enjoyed going to the Ranger games with Jessica and Blake and the boys.

Les was preceded in death by his parents, Huber and Grettena Stover.

Les is survived by his daughter, Jessica Bradley and husband, Blake; three brothers - Huber Lee Stover and wife, Teresa; Gary Brent Stover, and Billy Jack Stover and wife, Renee; two precious grandsons, Carter and Greyson Bradley. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A reception is planned at MCM Elegante, 4250 Ridgemont Drive immediately following the service.
