Leslie Daw, 81 of Abilene, TX. Passed away on 27 October at Abilene Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family and friends.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM on Thursday October 29th at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00PM October 30th at Wylie Baptist Church with Brother Donny Harbers of Wylie Baptist, officiating.
Les was born in Brewton Alabama to Oscar and Viola Daw on July 4th 1934. He and his family moved to Texas in 1949 where he later married Francis LaJean Bedford on October 4th 1952. He worked in the food industry his entire career, retiring from Borden Foods in December of 1994.
In 1999, he married the second love of his life Sue Paslay and they recently celebrated 16 years of marriage.
Les was preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Viola, Sisters Barbara Letz, Joyce Lou Daw, his first wife, Frances Bedford Daw and Granddaughter Melissa Daw.
Les is survived by his wife Sue Paslay, Son Rick Daw and wife Bette, Daughter Vicki Kerr and husband Royce, Stepson Rick Weir and wife Sally , Step Grandchildren Austin Weir and Amanda Laufer, Sisters Imogene Moore and husband Jimmy, Naomi Head, Myrtle Thornton, Judy Belyeu, Grandchildren Christy Gozdanovic, Amy Barnhill, Michael Kerr, and eight Great Grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to Wylie Baptist Building Fund and the family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to physicians Anton Melnyk and George Dawson as well as Hospice of the Big Country.
