Les White

Les White, 87, of Abilene, passed away Friday, May 13, 2016. Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm on Monday, May 16, 2016 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Dr. Cliff Stewart will officiate. Interment will be at a later date at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Les was born in Seymour, Texas to Elmer and Loyce White on November 19, 1928. He married Frances Kay Martin on August 2, 1959 in Hobbs, New Mexico. Les owned and operated Les White Music Company in Abilene from 1966 until retiring December 31, 2007. His three passions in life were family, being an avid fisherman and bird hunter. He was a member of First Central Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Elaine Clark and Anjie Edwards; and two brothers, Quince White and Dale White. Les is survived by his wife, Fran White of Abilene; one brother, John White of Orla, TX; two nieces, Katy Young of Abilene and Kelle Snyder of Phoenix, AZ; two nephews, Tom Sparks of Abilene and Louis Sparks of Tucson, AZ; as well as numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Memorials may be given in honor of Les White to First Central Presbyterian Church, 400 Orange St., Abilene, TX 79601.
