Leroy Caughey

Leroy Caughey, 84, originally of San Antonio, passed away on August 13th in Abilene. Rosary & Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 pm, Thursday, August 18th at the family's home. Funeral services will be held 9:00 am, Friday, August 19th at Holy Family Catholic Church with Monsignor Fred Nawarskas, officiating. Burial will follow at Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Leroy was born in San Antonio on August 30, 1931. He was a Purple Heart recipient that served for over 20 years in the Marines with tours of duty in Korea and Vietnam. After retiring, he established a successful business, running Health Insurance Sources, Inc. for 25 years. He married Barbara Talerico on April 19, 1975 in San Antonio. Leroy is survived by his wife Barbara, his daughters Cynthia Scott (Marshall), Barbara Moore (Bob), and grandchildren, Tom Weber, Nicholas, Cameron, Mary, Kathleen, and Gianna Moore, his sister Louise Terry, brothers, Everett Caughey (Totsie), Robert Gutschke (Paula), and Roger Gutschke (Jeanette) as well as many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Holy Family Catholic Church, 5410 Buffalo Gap Abilene, Texas, 79606.
