Lee Roy Hargrove, 74, died Friday, October 12, 2007 in a local hospital. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday, October 16, in the chapel at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 17, 2007. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Lee was born February 13, 1933 in Joy, Texas to E.V. and Anna (Laughon) Hargrove. He graduated from high school in Dimmitt, Texas. Lee served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. October 13, 1957, he married Annette Webb in Anton, Texas. Lee was a DPS officer prior to moving to Abilene in 1965. Lee owned a service station in Abilene. He also worked at Dyess Truck Rental and American National Insurance Company. At the time of his retirement, Lee owned and operated the Freeway Car Wash.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Annette, of Abilene; one son, Gary Hargrove of Abilene; one daughter, Sharla Foreman and husband, David of Abilene; one brother, Don Hargrove and wife Mae of Dimmitt; two sisters, Hazel Britt of Friona, Texas and Betty Pugh; five grandchildren, Christopher and wife Leah, Amanda, Sheena, Kassie and Tyler; six great-grandchildren, Eathan, Alexander, JaeLynn, Ashlee, Xander, Ayden; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and special friends, Craig and Jerolyn Beyer of Abilene.
Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
