Lawrence Eugene Beall

1935 — October 28, 2007

Lawrence "Larry" Beall died at his home in Abilene on October 28, 2007, after a lengthy illness. Born on July 12, 1935, in Abilene, Texas, he was the son of Samuel Kirby and Myrtle Carrie Beall. Larry grew up in Abilene, but lived all over the United States and several other countries during his life. In the 1950's, Larry excelled in the sports of football and track while attending Abilene High School, but he soon became best known, internationally, in his profession as a professional motorcycle racer and motorcycle manufacturer representative. He traveled extensively, world-wide for many years. Larry raced with factory sponsorships from Yamaha International and the Kawasaki Corporation. For several years he held the American Motorcycle Association national number "87" and continues to be revered in the motorcycle racing circles. Larry has been awarded and recognized on several occasions for his many accomplishments throughout the motorcycle racing industry. After retirement, Larry resided in Mexico City D.F., Mexico, where he met his wife, Blanca Luz Vargas. Larry and Blanca were married on July 4th, 1983. From this marriage, his sons, Oscar and Samuel (Sammy) were born. Throughout the years, his children, including the ones from his earlier marriage, Janna, Larry Jr., Kerri and Michelle, played a large part in his life. Larry moved back to Abilene in 1998 to unite all of his family into one great family unit. His greatest joy came from spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, brother, other family members, and his friends from all over the world. He spent much of his time relating "racing tales" and stories of his travels, along with attending Oscar and Sammy's many school and athletic events. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Sam Beall, Myrtle Beall Rogers, brother, Donald Edward Beall, daughter Kerri Beall, and father-in-law, Francisco Vargas. Larry is survived by his wife, Blanca Beall of Abilene; three sons, Larry, Jr., Oscar, and Sammy Beall; two daughters, Janna Beall and Michelle Adams; three grandchildren, Dallas Sean Murphy, Morieh, Zachary and Emma Adams; one great-grandchild, Joshua Murphy; one brother, Freddy Beall, his mother-in-law, Maria de la Luz Vargas; Oscar's fianc?, Sarah Monroe; along with an uncle, several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Best friends, Alan Jackson, Jim Posey, Hector Romero, Sr., Hector Romero, Jr., Oscar Castellanos, and Luis Bobadilla must also be remembered. Larry had many, many other friends from all over the world that meant so much to him, as well. Larry's family wishes to thank everyone from Hospice of the Big Country, Dr. Cavouti, and everyone at Abilene Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday, November 1, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Visitation with the Beall family will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
