Laurretta Faye Williams, 82, beloved wife and mother died Sunday, February 3, 2008. Funeral services, with Bill Merkel officiating, will be at 10:00 am Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
March 22, 1925, Laurretta was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Robert Earl and Leah Faye Howard. She graduated from Moore High School attended the University of Oklahoma for three years. Laurretta married James J. Williams July 2, 1948 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She lived a long and wonderful life, sharing the past 59 ½ years with her loving husband. She was a faithful member of Southern Hills Church of Christ.
Besides her parents, Laurretta was preceded in death by her brother, Harry Howard, and one sister, Oleta Bohannan. She is survived by her husband, James Williams, three daughters, Michelle and Scott Senter, Shari and Ken Stamper, and Deborah Kwilos; one sister, Beulah Jury; five grandchildren, Shay and Shawn Senter, Laura and Megan Stamper, and Aaron Hammons, and many nieces and nephews.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in honor of Laurretta to Hendrick Hospice Care, 1682 Hickory Street, Abilene, Texas 79601; or to the Community Foundation of Abilene, 500 Chestnut Street, Suite 1634, Abilene, Texas 79602.
