Larry Don Tarrant, 69, originally from Abilene, Texas, passed away on February 21, 2013 in Justin, Texas.
Visitation will be 2:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 24 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 25 at North Side Baptist Church with Pastor Don Greenway of North Side Baptist officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home.
Larry was born in Abilene to Galton and Hazel Tarrant on November 2, 1943. He went to school in Abilene. He married Berta Nell Campbell on October 29, 1966 at North Side Baptist Church in Abilene. He worked in sales, and later, management for Coca-Cola of Abilene for over 22 years. He was then employed by RC Cola - Lubbock for several years. Larry finished his career with Snapple Beverage Corp., playing an integral part in bringing the Snapple brand to the Dallas Ft. Worth area. Larry was a deeply spiritual man, who took great peace, joy and happiness from God’s word and songs of praise. He was a proud family man who enjoyed 46 years of marriage to the love of his life, Berta Campbell Tarrant. He enjoyed spending his free time spoiling his three daughters and his many nieces, nephews, and later, grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Larry and Berta were members of Bible Baptist Church of Justin, Texas.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Galton and Hazel Tarrant, and his brother Glynn Tarrant.
Larry is survived by his wife Berta, his daughters Sherese Skinner, Denise Bassham, Marsha York and sons-in-law Paul Skinner, Don Bassham and Jason York, grandchildren Justin and Caty Dearing, Jordan, Bailee and Brady Bassham, Dale York, great granddaughter Kinleigh Dearing, mother-in-law Betty Campbell, his extensive Campbell family, brother Wayne Tarrant, sisters Verna Burns and Sandra Adams.
In lieu of flowers, the family believes Larry would have wished for donations to the Cure PSP organization at www.CurePSP.org. The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the many health care workers and family who supported Larry and his family medically, spiritually, and emotionally.
