Larry Lane Grice, 76, of Abilene, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Hendrick Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 am on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Holy Family Catholic Church. A graveside service will be held later that day at 2:30 pm at Wolf Valley Cemetery near May, Texas. Father Fred Nawarskas will officiate. Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 14, from 5:30 to 7:00 pm, with a Prayer Service beginning at 7:00 pm followed by a Rosary, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
Larry was born at home in Jones County, TX to Elda Auburn Grice and Edna Gladys (Hardy) Grice on September 3, 1937. He received his education in Anson, TX public schools. He was married to Nora Alice Ikenberry on June 4, 1982 in Abilene, TX. Larry owned and operated Grice Sales for 23 years. His greatest accomplishment was the prison ministry that he participated in for over 20 Years. Larry loved his church and his church family. He was always willing to do whatever was required to carry out God’s plan for his life.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Elda and Gladys Grice, and two brothers, Morris and Ronnie Grice.
Larry is survived by his wife, Alice, of the home; one daughter, Sherry McKennon of Wichita Falls, TX; two grandchildren, Zachary McKennon of Burleson, TX and Casey McKennon of Wichita Falls, TX and extended family too numerous to mention.
