Lanny Kellen Bouldin, 58, of Abilene, passed away Monday, December 14, 2009 in Abilene, Texas surrounded by his friends and family. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Funeral services will be at 9:30 am on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at 11:00 am in the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene. Lanny was born on September 18, 1951 in Stamford, Texas to Mount Weldon Bouldin and Addie Mae (Fry). He graduated from Cooper High School. Lanny married Kathy Lanell Williams on April 25, 1972 in Abilene, Texas. He worked at Bridwell Oil Company for over 30 years. He served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era. Lanny was honorably discharged in 1975. He was involved heavily with his family and friends especially with his two granddaughters. He also loved giving everyone a hard time. Lanny was an avid gun collector. Lanny was preceded in death by his mother, Addie Mae Bouldin, his father, Mount Weldon Bouldin, his older brother, Mount Weldon Bouldin, Jr., his older sister, Priscilla Lou Norman, and his younger sister, Sula Nanette Bouldin. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Lanell Bouldin; his daughter, Lanna Kaye Bouldin; his two granddaughters, Mercy Lyn Verner and Christen Kaye Verner; his sister and her husband, Sandra Gwynell Hale and Carl Ronald (Ronnie) Hale, and loving nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Doyle Jackson, Ricky Newport, Gary Neal, Marc Davis, Chester Carroll and Doug Bond. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Newport, Gary Huddleston, Travis Newport, Heath Lemens and Luke Hurst. The family of Lanny Kellen Bouldin wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Texas Oncology Center, Dr. Anton Melnyk and the whole staff, Hospice of the Big Country and Abilene Regional Medical Center oncology floor staff and all friends and family.
