Landry Kate Robinson

2003 — April 16, 2017

Landry Kate Robinson, 14, of Abilene, Texas, met her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, April 16, 2017, after a courageous eight-year battle with brain cancer. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, from 5p.m. until 7 p.m. at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 1p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Beltway Park Church, 4009 Beltway South, Abilene, Texas. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home. Landry was born in Abilene, Texas, on February 21, 2003, to Kory and Shannon Robinson. Landry was a blue-eyed, blonde-haired sweetheart. She loved being a Wylie Bulldog and dancing at Patty Harper Dance Studio. She was kind, strong, independent, smart, and sassy. To know Landry was to love Landry. She aspired to be a decorator when she grew up as she had a keen sense of what went together and what did not. She was a huge supporter of both Disney and Apple. She loved her technology. Even more so, she loved her family and friends dearly, and she loved Jesus with all of her heart. Landry was diagnosed with brain cancer shortly after her sixth birthday. She was a fierce, brave fighter who feared nothing. She always had a smile on her face and something positive to say. She was a bright light, and this world will miss her terribly. Landry did not lose. She won her battle, and she has claimed the victory. God is “fablious” and so is Landry. Landry is survived by her parents, Kory and Shannon Robinson, and her brother Campbell, of the home; her grandparents, Lucy Kay Robinson of Abilene, and Robert and Nancy Stoll of Lubbock; her great-grandfather, Chester Young; uncles and aunts Perry and Stacey Robinson of Shallowater, Ashley and Carla Robinson of Abilene, Jason and Amber Ratliff of Lubbock, and Nic Stoll of Lubbock; and eight cousins, Lexi and Parker Robinson of Shallowater, Payton, Kayl, Phoenix, and Bekah Ratliff of Lubbock, and Kayla and Keegan Copher of Abilene. Landry was preceded in death by her Poppy, Travis Eugene Robinson, Jr. and great-grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. Elbert G. Peak, Travis and Lucinda Robinson, Robert and Margaret Stoll, and Claudene Young. Pallbearers will be Landry’s uncles: Perry Robinson, Ashley Robinson, Jason Ratliff, and Nic Stoll. Kory, Shannon, and Campbell wish to extend their sincere thanks to all of their friends and family, Dr. Richard Roberts and Dr. David Donahue of Cook Children’s Hospital, Dr. Murali Chintagumpala at Texas Children’s Hospital, Dr. Anita Mahajan at MD Anderson, Dr. Jay Capra, Michele O’Donnell, Melissa Raymond, and all other health care professionals and nurses who treated Landry. In addition, a special thank you is given to Barry and Barbara Winstead of Boerne, Texas; Wylie Independent School District, and all Taylor County judges, their staff, and courthouse personnel. Although not required, friends of Landry are welcome to wear pink or purple, or any “Landry” shirt to the funeral service. Memorials may be made to a foundation that will be named in Landry’s honor, 5358 Western Plains, Abilene, Texas 79606; P4X – Foundation, P.O. Box 1661, Abilene, Texas 79604; the Ronald McDonald House Charities; or to the charities of your choice.
