Lance Michael Nickels

Lance Michael Nickels, 47, of Abilene, died Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Hendrick Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Broadview Baptist Church. Rev. David Cason will officiate. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Lance was born July 1, 1966 in Abilene, Texas to Edward J. and Martha (Pate) Nusspickel. He worked in auto parts sales and auto detail. He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents. Lance is survived by his mother, Martha Lee Nusspickel, of Abilene; two sons, Lance Michael “Bubba” Nickels, Jr. and Chance Lee Edward Nickels, both of Abilene; two daughters, Stormy Dawn Nickels of Pennsylvania, and Hailey Nickels of Abilene; one step-daughter, Shama Leigh Holcomb of Abilene, and seven grandchildren. Lance’s family would like to thank the nurses in ICU, especially Courtney, all of the 7th Floor Hospice Staff, Drs. Talmadge Trammell and Sara Trammell, as well as those who were involved in the investigation at the Abilene Police Department.
