LaFaun Morgan

LaFaun Morgan, former resident of Park Hill, peacefully went to be with her Lord on December 2, 2008 at a care facility in Abilene, Texas. A memorial service for LaFaun will be held at the Keys Church of Christ near Tahlequah, Oklahoma on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Her nephew, John Lindsay and grandson, Matthew Morgan, will be officiating. Her ashes will be buried next to her husband at the Park Hill Cemetery, prior to the service. LaFaun was born on December 4 to Hague L. Lindsay and Reba Albright Lindsay in Fort Worth, Texas. She was the oldest of three children. LaFaun married Jesse E. (Gene) Morgan on November 7, 1947. They had one son, Kelly Morgan. LaFaun was raised and lived most of her life in Fort Worth, but also lived in Abilene, Texas while attending college and during the last few years of her life. She was also a resident of Park Hill, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker but also taught piano lessons part-time as well as doing touch-ups on photographs in Fort Worth. She also worked part-time in a physician's office in Tahlequah. LaFaun had a passion for all kinds of music, loved good art, and adored Emily Dickinson's poetry. She was a member of the Church of Christ and was active teaching ladies and children's classes when she was younger. She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, Gene. She is survived by her son, Kelly Morgan and daughter-in-law Nancy Morgan of Abilene, five grandchildren: Sam Morgan and his wife Amy, of Ft. Worth, Matthew Morgan and his wife Lauren, also of Fort Worth, Meredith Morgan, Katie Morgan, and Christopher Morgan, all of Abilene. She is also survived by her sister, Lenore Springer, of New Caney, Texas and her brother, Hague L. Lindsay, Jr., of Tulsa, Oklahoma; by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as many wonderful friends.
