Kyla Jean Stevenson

Kyla Jean Stevenson, 19, of Tye, died Sunday, May 30, 2010 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 3 at the Tye Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Caps Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Kyla was born May 22, 1991 in Jacksonville, Florida to George Stevenson, Jr. and Patricia Ann (Baucom) Stevenson. She grew up attending Wylie schools, beginning in Kindergarten until she graduated on Friday, May 28, 2010 from Wylie High School. While in high school she was on the Wylie Swim Team and was in the Wylie FFA where she showed pigs and won the Grand Champion Prize in 2005. Kyla was also in the Vocational Program where she worked at the Olive Garden, Hobby Lobby and Cavender's Boot City. She was also a lifeguard and had worked in the kitchen at Camp Butman. Kyla was a member of Tye Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Annie Mae Baucom. Kyla is survived by her parents, Butch and Trish Stevenson, of Tye; her sister, Melissa "Missy" Stevenson, of Abilene; her grandparents, Rachel and Eddie Howell, of Ft. Worth, Tom and Jo Stevenson, of Big Spring, and Roy and Francis Baucum, of McKenzie, Tennessee. She also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
