Kevin Wayne Thompson, 55, of Abilene passed away suddenly of heart complications, on Sunday, June 29, 2014, in a Lagos, Nigeria hospital, while working overseas.
A funeral service will be held at Wylie Baptist Church, 6097 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene, on Monday, July 14, 2014 at 10:00am with Rev. Donny Harbers officiating. Burial will follow in Potosi Cemetery. A visitation with the family will be held Sunday, July 13, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene.
Kevin worked for 25 years as a Turbine Technician and Advisor for Chevron and received many awards for his loyalty and outstanding craftsmanship. A loving and kind man, Kevin spent his free time restoring antique cars and working diligently in his shop.
He will be greatly missed.
Kevin is survived by his two sons Blaine Thompson and Kyle Thompson, fiancée Susan Howe, sister Melanie Thompson, brother Neal Thompson and his wife Marcia, nephew Eric Thompson, niece Katelyn Thompson, and many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Verna Joyce Thompson.
