Kevin Lynn Massey

Kevin Massey, 47, died Wednesday, August 4, 2010, at his residence in Abilene, Texas. The son of the late Dorotha Sue (Dottie) Easterling Massey and Milton Lindsay (Lynn) Massey, he was born on January 21, 1963 in Boise, Idaho. Kevin was a 1981 graduate of Abilene Wylie High School and attended college for two years at Western Texas College, Snyder, Texas. He was employed as an officer with the Texas Department of Public Safety for 20 years. Kevin married Connie Culpepper on January 8, 1993 in Abilene. He served nine years as a board member and a coach for his daughters at Wylie Girls Fast Pitch Softball Association. He also officiated high school football for the Texas Association of Sports Officials for eight years. Kevin was passionate about Wylie High School sports and watching his children's participation. Kevin was a member of Wylie Baptist Church. Kevin is survived by his wife Connie Massey, son Cody Williams, and two daughters Kortney Massey and Katie Massey, all of Abilene; and one brother, Don Massey and wife Amy and two nephews Seth Massey and Hudson Massey, all of Burleson. Kevin's family would like to extend a special thank you to Hendrick Hospice Care, Dr. Victor Hirsch and his staff, the staff of the Hendrick Oncology Unit and Hendrick Infusion Unit, and Dr. Arujo and staff at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at Wylie Baptist Church, with Rev. Lee Fuller officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park directed by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday at the funeral home.
