Kenneth Ray Stewart, 90, of Buffalo Gap, Texas passed away on October 24, 2024, at Hendrick Hospice Care Center after a long battle of heart failure and diabetes.
Kenneth was born in Santa Anna, Texas on November 6, 1933, to Leonard Wilson (PeeWee) Stewart and Dora Mae Canuteson Stewart. Kenneth was a family man, always fair and honest. He graduated from Wylie High School, served in the Navy, worked at Central Texas Iron Works, owned a grocery store and retired as a cattle rancher. As a young man, he loved sports. He was good at Football, Baseball, Basketball and other sports. Kenneth loved his family and his country. He believed in Jesus and God healed him of many afflictions during his lifetime.
Kenneth and Esther Gaston were married on October 31, 1953, in Buffalo Gap, Texas by Esther's father, Rev. H.W. Gaston.
Kenneth was preceded in death by both parents and his brother Perry Stewart.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife, Esther; his son Mickey and wife Pam of Buffalo Gap; daughter, Cindy Kay Lantrip and husband Gene of Abilene; son, Kerry Stewart of San Angelo; grandchildren, Jenn, Juarl, Kate, Kenny, and Kristie, and nine great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 28, 2024, at the Buffalo Gap Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Hatcher officiating.
