Kenneth D. Perry, 72, died Friday, May 11, 2007 in College Station, TX. Visitation will be held on Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Morris Chancey, brother-in-law of Kenneth, officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Ken was born April 10, 1935 in Abilene to Frank and Lois Doby Perry. He graduated from Abilene High School in 1953. Ken was a longtime resident of Abilene. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Kenneth had many interests and hobbies that afforded him careers in diesel mechanics and aviation. He was also a member and past secretary/treasurer of the Abilene Gun Club.
Ken is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by one son, Kenneth Wayne Perry of Arlington; his long time companion, Emma McKeever of Abilene; three daughters, Carol Bailey and husband Charles of College Station, Donna Gray and husband Paul of Montgomery, TX, and Deborah Mullen and husband Larry of Mineola, TX; sixteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Frank Sanchez, Bob Newberry, Willie Rodriguez, Dennis Mathison, Audie Dill, and Don Bledsoe. Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Scoggins, Gary Lawler, Wayne Hennington, Abilene Hanger of the Quiet Birdmen, and The Abilene Gun Club.
