Kelsey J. Starks

Kelsey J. Starks, 56, a longtime resident of Abilene, Texas, died Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at a local medical center. Born in Burkburnett, Texas on December 21, 1956, he was the son of Elizabeth (Reynolds) and Odis Starks. He was a graduate of Cooper High School in Abilene, and married Sharon Musick in Abilene. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Darrell Starks and Odis Starks; and a sister, Sharon Witt. Kelsey is survived by his wife, Sharon Starks of Abilene; sons, Brent Blankenship and wife Amanda of Rockwall, Texas, Brandon Blankenship and wife Kierstn of Abilene, and Brody Johnson of Abilene; and a grandson, Hudson Blankenship. Survivors also include one brother, Bill Starks and wife Robin of Abilene; four sisters, Dianne Boysen, Shirley Davila, Margaret Brazee and husband Steve, and Elizabeth Heneger and husband Bruce, all of Abilene; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at a visitation on Saturday morning, June 15, from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. in The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. Mike Hill will be officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park.
