Kay Babington, 70, of Abilene, passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2022, in Abilene.
Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Thursday, July 7, 2022, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
Funeral service will be held 12:30 am, Friday, July 8, 2022, at St. Paul United Methodist Church with Benji Van Fleet and Rev. Bill Libby officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 pm at The Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home.
Kay was born in Sweetwater, Texas to K.W. and Nellie Kathryn (Pennell) Sanders on July 24, 1951. She graduated with a B.A. from McMurry University in Abilene. She married Michael Lee Babington in Sweetwater in 1973. Kay was a homemaker and an avid volunteer, having volunteered at the West Texas Rehab Center and she was very active in her church. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.
Kay is preceded in death by her parents, K.W. and Nellie Sanders, and in-laws, Sam and Helen Babington.
Kay is survived by her husband Michael Babington; sons, Justin Wade Babington, and James Michael Babington; four grandchildren, Jeremiah, Joshua, Sam, and Luke Babington; sister-in-law, Vicki Patterson, and husband Mark Ford all of Abilene, and sister Janice Kathryn Sheehan of Tustin, California.
Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or The American Heart Association.
