Kathryn Janette Rose, 50, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 in Abilene. Born in Abilene, Texas on March 1, 1960, Kathryn was the daughter of Charlotte and Earl Glenn Rose. After receiving her degree from Baylor University in education, she taught for several years at Dyess Elementary School. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Abilene. Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Glenn Rose in 1998 and Charlotte Davis Rose on May 21, 2010, and a sister, Rebecca Rose Gunn in 2000. "Nothing will ever be able to separate us from the love of God demonstrated by our Lord Jesus Christ when He died for us." Romans 8:39 Kathryn is survived by her brother Kyle G. Rose of Raleigh, North Carolina; sister Judy Sivley and husband Dr. Mark Sivley of Abilene; brother-in-law, George Gunn and wife Kelli Gunn and son Jackson of Dallas; four nieces and nephews Lauren Gunn, Caroline Gunn, Matthew Sivley and Jonathan Sivley; and a great-niece, Brooklynne Sivley and her mother Amber White. She took great joy in her cat Bangles. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, September 10, in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories with Dr. Phil Christopher officiating. Arrangements are being made by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Meals on Wheels, PO Box 903, Abilene, TX 79604; or Serenity House of Abilene, 1546 North 2nd Street, Abilene, TX 79601.
