Kathleen McGraw, 68, passed away January 7, 2007 at a local hospital. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Tuesday from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, January 10, 2007 in the funeral home chapel with Rick Grant presiding. Burial will follow in the Potosi Cemetery.
June 14, 1938, Kathleen was born to J.M. Briggs and Yolanda (Bowles) Briggs in Potosi, Texas. Kathleen graduated from Abilene High School. She owned and operated K-Don Picnic Supply. She was a lifelong resident of Abilene and was a Baptist.
Kathleen was preceded in death by both of her parents and a sister, Patty Hawkins. She is survived by three sons, Eric McGraw and his wife Patti of Charlottesville, Virginia, Scott McGraw of Abilene and Ron McGraw of Fort Worth; one brother Jim Briggs of San Antonio; five sisters, Brenda Overton of Tuscola, Carol Corbin of Englewood, Florida, Tucky Steel of Granbury, Rene Cruce of Bossier City, Louisiana, and Glenda Graber of Thibodaux, Louisiana; an aunt, LaVerne Coalson of Potosi; seven grandchildren, Brittney Chapples of Midlothian, Texas, Caitlin Ann McGraw and Sean Collin McGraw of Clyde; Taylor, Ian, and Molly McGraw of Charlottesville, Virginia; two great-grandchildren Chris and Jimmy Chapples; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Key City Women's Golf Association will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Victor Hirsch, Lana Cunningham, and the nurses on A7 at Hendrick Medical Center and Hendrick Hospice Care for all of their loving care.
