Kathleen "Kathy" Mary Lisman, 70, died Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at her home in Abilene after a lengthy illness. A funeral service, with Reverend Robert Chambers officiating, will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday, March 9, 2007 in The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home.
Kathleen Mary Mellors was born February 15, 1937 in Birmingham, England to Harold and Rose Jones Mellors. She graduated from high school in England and on December 16, 1961, she married James A. Lisman in England. The couple moved to Abilene in 1962 and shortly thereafter, Kathy began working at the Dyess Air Force Base NCO Club, where she worked for 32 years before retirement. She was a member of the Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Jim, who died on January 5, 1990.
Survivors include: two daughters, Julie and husband John Smith of Odessa, Texas and Karen and husband Ray Cockerell of Abilene; a sister, Margaret and husband Ron Riley of Birmingham, England; a sister-in-law, Darlene and husband Gary Sparks of Abilene; five grandchildren, Brian and wife Melissa Smith, Sheryl Klein and husband Michael, Kailey and Kelsey Cockerell, and Jacob Smith; four great-grandchildren, Samantha Klein, Garret Klein, Brison Smith and Brody Smith, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be family members Brian and Melissa Smith, Sheryl and Michael Klein, John and Jacob Smith and Mark Lemley.
