Karen Lee Young Reynolds, 72, passed away on January 7th, 2021 peacefully at her home in Denton, Texas surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 16th in Abilene, Texas at Hamil Family Funeral home located at 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Pastor Doug Hale will be officiating the service. A private family graveside service will follow at Resthaven Cemetery in Brady, Texas.
Karen was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on April 4,1948. She was raised in Bishop and Lake Jackson, Texas by her parents Helen and Curtis Young. She graduated from Brazosport High School and Abilene Christian University. She married Charles Reynolds on June 6th, 1970 in Lake Jackson, Texas and they lived most of their married life in Brady and Lubbock, Texas. They moved to Denton, Texas in 2011 to be closer to their children and grandchildren and recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. She was a home economics and science teacher, business owner and housewife.
Karen was first and foremost a dedicated, devoted and loving Christian wife, mother and KK. She has left an amazing legacy not only through her children, but also through the many lives she touched throughout her lifetime. She was an educator who made a significant impact on her students inside and outside the classroom and was a sweet friend to many. The Lord gifted her with an incredible sense of creativity which was exemplified through her arts and crafts, interior design and personal style. Her pleasant, fun-loving personality and infectious smile will remain in our hearts and minds forever.
Karen is survived by her husband Charles Reynolds, her children Jennifer Robbins and husband Randy, Hunter Reynolds and wife Jayme, her grandchildren Jaleigh, Macey and Caleb Robbins and Miller and Brady Ladusau, her sisters Gale Rieger, Kina Anderson and Pat Perry, brother Mark Young and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother Ronnie.
Memorials may be given to Freedom House in Aubrey, Texas and Abilene Christian University.
