Karen Lynn Peterson

Karen Peterson, 55, died Sunday, July 16, 2017 in Bedford, Texas.

Born in Effingham, Illinois on December 11, 1961, she was the daughter of Roberta Jean (Moore) and Stanley Robert Harris, Sr.  She was a respiratory therapist and a member of Shiloh Family Church in Flower Mound, Texas.

Karen married Daniel Ray Peterson on August 16, 1997.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Robby Harris; a grandson, Callan Meers; and son-in-law, Kevin Atchley.

Karen is survived by her husband, Dan Peterson of Hurst, Texas; son, Bryan Meers and wife Maggie of Abilene; stepchildren, Ryan Peterson and wife Karen, Amanda Peterson, Gavin Peterson and Bailey Atchley; two sisters, Terri Peevy of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, and Karla Ledbetter of Amarillo, Texas; and grandchildren, Avery Meers, Colter Meers, Trapper Meers, Nathaniel Peterson, Elisha Peterson, Piper Atchley and Jude Atchley.    

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 24, in Hamby Cemetery with Larry Sanders officiating. Arrangements are being made by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene.
