Karen Sue Glover Bowden, age 45, passed away Monday, October 19, 2015 in Merkel. Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. Thursday October 22, 2015 at the Wylie Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene. Burial will be in the Iberis Cemetery. She was born August 25, 1970 in Abilene, Texas to Kenneth and Gloria Glover. She grew up with her parents and two older brothers on Hardwick Road. Karen attended Wylie School where she was active in sports and many other activities. She graduated in 1988. She was a loving caring young lady. She worked at Abilene Eye Institute and Plastic Wholesale Plumbing.
Karen had two precious children, Donovan Doan and Kerbie Shaye Doan whom she supported lovingly in all their activities. She especially loved watching them play in sports.
Karen married Dusty Bowden on August 8, 2008 and they had seven happy years together. They bought a lovely home north of Merkel and put their special touch to it. They built a big shop building and later turned it into a play area with barbecue grill, ping pong table and other games. They liked to entertain and neighbors and friends both young and old came over frequently to fellowship, eat and play. They all loved her dearly.
Karen is survived by her husband and best friend Dusty, two children Donovan Lee Doan and Kerbie Shaye Doan, Parents Kenneth and Gloria Glover as well as mother in law, Diane Bowden. Two brothers, Keith (Angie) Glover & Randy (Amy) Glover, grandmother Faye Glover and nieces and nephews Makenzie Glover, Drew Glover and Jack Glover and aunts, uncles & cousins, and a host of friends.
She will be greatly missed, we all loved her so.
