June "Hutch" Hutchins
June Hutchins, 73, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 20, 2006, after courageously battling lung cancer. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, December 22nd at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2006 at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park.
"Hutch", as she was known by her friends and fellow employees, was born in Tiaban, New Mexico in 1933. While in her teens she moved to Texas where she met and later married Bob Hutchins in 1952. Together they raised 3 children.
In 1960 she received her LVN accreditation and she came to work at Hendrick Hospital in 1965 where she earned her Bachelor of Science & Nursing Degree. She worked at Hendrick Medical Center for 40 years, many of them as a Nursing Supervisor. During that time she touched the lives of many under her care and was well respected and loved by those she worked with.
June is survived by her husband Bob Hutchins of Clyde; son Chuck Hutchins of Arlington; daughters Chris Close and Beverly Hutchins of California. She is also survived by five grandchildren; Ashley Reeves, Amber Killough, Aaron Martin, Cody and Caley Close and great-granddaughter, Olivia Martin.
A memorial has been set up in honor of June Hutchins. It will be called the Hendrick Medical Center Foundation Memorial to Honor "Hutch". Donations may be made to:
