Judy Beth English

Judy Beth English, 78, of Abilene, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on May 14, 2021.

Visitation will be Friday, May 21 at Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd, from 5 to 7PM. Funeral services will be held at 2PM on Saturday, May 22 at Hamil Family Funeral Home with Rev. Reed Justus officiating. Burial will follow at Tye Cemetery in Tye, Texas at the intersection of Airbase Road and Morgan St.

Judy was born in Abilene to Walter and Ruth (Millard) McCartney on January 30, 1943. She attended grade school in Tye and then Abilene High School. She graduated from Hardin-Simmons University. She married Jerry English on July 23, 1966 and was a devoted mother and grandmother to three children and seven grandchildren. Judy was an elementary educator for 27 years, primarily at Wylie Elementary. She received numerous accolades for teaching excellence.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Patricia Joseph. Judy is survived by her loving husband, Jerry; daughter Julie Strange and husband, Robby; son Jay English and wife, Lori; son Jason English and wife, Stacey; grandchildren, Cole Strange, Claire Strange, Emily English, Sydney English, Ross English, Jordyn English and Addison English; nieces, Niesje Buaas, Kerry Driskill, Kelli Anderson and nephew Ryan Whisenhunt.

 Pallbearers will be Robby Strange, Cole Strange, Ross English, Ryan Whisenhunt, Aidan Overgaard, and Cole Harris.
