Judy O'Bar DeShazo, of Abilene, died Sunday, July 8, 2007 at the age of 58. Funeral services, with Rev. Jimmy Griffith officiating, will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, July 11 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Burial will follow in the McBee Cemetery in South Taylor County. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, July 10, in the chapel at the funeral home.
Judy was born the daughter of Wilburn Ray O'Bar and Louise Myrl (Windham) O'Bar in Abilene, Texas on March 8, 1949. She lived in Lawn and in Abilene most of her life. Judy loved dancing and fishing. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved her children and grandchildren with all of her heart. Judy previously owned Texas College of Cosmetology in Abilene where she taught Cosmetology. Most recently she was employed by Chartwell Home Health Care. Judy was a Baptist.
Judy's parents preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, Dennis Webb of Abilene; her daughter-in-law, Judy Webb also of Abilene; her friend and companion, Leon NeSmith of Abilene; a sister, Ann Rose of Lawn; one niece, Debbie Ake of Tuscola; two grandchildren, Jacob and Breanna Webb, and many friends.
Memorials may be made in honor of Judy to the Hendrick Cancer Center, 2000 Pine Street, Abilene, Texas 79601 or the donor's favorite charity.
