Joyce Jeanell Purvis

Joyce Jeanell Purvis went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, May 23, 2022. Jeanell was born on October 28, 1931, to Claude and Ruth Joy in Cottonwood, TX.

Services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 26 at Wylie Baptist Church, with visitation starting at 9:30 am. Burial will follow at 11:30 am at Old Cottonwood Cemetery.

Jeanell was preceded in death by Richard Purvis, the love of her life. She is survived by her son Dennis and wife Becky Purvis from Christoval, TX, daughter Shirley Morrison of Abilene, and daughter Sarah Isenburg and husband Gene of Abilene, seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Jeanell graduated from Howard Payne University in 1965. She taught school for 20 years. After retirement, she and Richard travelled around the country, building churches for Campers on Mission. They made many lifelong friends during their travels.

Rest in peace to our beloved “P-Mom,” who is dancing with Jesus.
