Joyce "Joycie " Colbath Bayer, 77, of Abilene, Texas passed away on Sunday, July 4, 2021, at her residency after a long battle with health problems.
Visitation will be at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Tuesday, July 6, 2021, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary from 7:00 to 7:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 5410 Buffalo Gap Road, with Very Reverend Santiago Udayar, Celebrant and Reverend Fred Nawarskas, Concelebrant. Burial will be held Saturday, July 10, 2021, at 11:30 a.m., at Colbath Cemetery, Ingram, Texas. Services under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
Joyce was born in Ingram, Texas to Curtis and Eula Beaver Colbath on December 21, 1943. Schools she attended included, Ingram and Tidy High School. She married Joseph Bayer on December 22, 1990, at 5310 Castle Road, Abilene, Texas. Remarried at Holy Family Catholic church on October 31, 1992.
Joyce worked in sales for many years. She was a supporter of Knights of Columbus, sang in the church choir for many years, avid POGO player, and had a great love for her dogs Mini Pearl and Sweet Pea.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Ralph Colbath, Eugene Colbath and James Colbath.
Joyce is survived by spouse Joseph Bayer: children Mark and Julie Fikes, Joseph and Ruth Bayer, Eddie Alvey, John and Fredith Bayer: one sister Frances Sanders: 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
