Josephine N. Porter, age 87, died Monday, July 25, 2005 in Abilene. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 31st, @ 11:00 a.m. at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd. The body will be cremated and the cremains will be buried in the Dallas/ Ft. Worth National Cemetery.
Josephine Nelson Porter was born on July 4, 1918 in Van Wert, Ohio to parents Roland Nelson and Josephine Mullen Nelson. She married Clarence Porter in Geneva, Nebraska on August 15, 1945. Josephine was a homemaker and was involved in the Arts & Crafts Club. She was preceded in death by both her parents.
Josephine is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband of fifty-nine years, Clarence Porter, of Abilene; one son: Ed Porter and wife, Carol of Abilene; two daughters: Juanita and husband, Randolph Sterling of Granbury and Gerrie and husband, Orpe Wayne of Canada. Also four grandchildren: Debbie and husband, Kyle Coody of Plano, Scott Randolph and wife, Elaine of Odessa, Natalie and husband, Bob White of Washington, D.C. and Julia and husband, Will Bramblett of Clinton, Illinois. Also three great-grandchildren: Parker and Pierceson Coody and Alexis Randolph along with one brother and two sisters.
The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the medical staff of Abilene Regional Medical Center and ask that memorials be sent to Hospice of The Big Country, 4601 Hartford, Abilene, Texas 79605.
