Joseph Erwin Beyer departed his earthly life on November 2, 2018, at his home in Berryville, Arkansas. Joe was born January 10, 1935 in Houston, Texas to Erwin and Vada (Yates) Beyer. He attended St. Joseph Academy and Wylie Schools, graduating from Wylie High School in 1953. Joe served in the Texas National Guard for several years. He married Dorothy Bowdoin on June 3, 1956. Three children were born of this marriage, Joseph Mack, Terry Eugene and Angelia Laurie.
Joe was a firefighter with the Abilene Fire Department for 10 years before moving to Fort Collins, Colorado. He married Gloria (McNeill) Mosness on April 27, 1984 in Windsor, Colorado. They made their home in Berryville, Arkansas. Joe was a self-employed carpenter, dealing mostly with commercial construction. He was a volunteer for the Hospital Auxiliary at Mercy Hospital in Berryville.
Joe is survived by his loving wife, Gloria, two sons: Joseph Mack Beyer (Vickie) of Puyallup, Washington, and Terry Eugene Beyer (Tiffany) of Kent, Washington; One daughter, Angelia Laurie Dappen (Fred) of Wheatland, Wyoming; two sisters, Barbara Kirby of Midland, Texas and Rita Bozarth of Abilene, Texas; two brothers, Gene Beyer of Johnson City, Texas and Ron Beyer of Pflugerville, Texas; two step-sons, one step-daughter, seven grandchildren and six great- grandchildren.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Erwin and Vada Beyer and a brother, Kenneth Beyer.
Joe was cremated and there will be a dual memorial service after the demise of his wife Gloria. Services will be held at Shady Grove Cemetery in Carrol County, Arkansas.
