Jonny Millington, 61, passed away Friday, January 6, 2006 in Abilene. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Monday, January 9, 2006 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Officiating will be Rev. Rudy Fambrough, Rev. Eddie Castanada and Leroy Mason. A visitation is scheduled from 3:00 to 5:00pm on Sunday, January 8, 2006 at the funeral home. Burial will be at DFW National Cemetery at 9:00 am on Tuesday.
Jonny was born on July 8, 1944 in Colorado City, TX to Hugh Lionel Millington and Bessie Matthews Millington. He graduated from Southwest Texas State University. Jonny served in the United States Army from August 30, 1968 to June 1, 1970, and then again from January 13, 1976 to April 20, 1979. He was also a postal worker for the U.S. Postal Service. In 1988, Jonny moved to Abilene from Colorado City. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
Both of Jonny's parents preceded him in death. He is survived by one brother, Jerry Hugh Millington and his wife Jeannine, of Cypress, TX, one niece Michelle Hackett of Carey, North Carolina, two nephews Matthew Fuller Millington and Richard Millington, both of Houston. Jonny is also survived by great nieces, nephews, and several cousins.
