John Doyle Sellers, 56, died Wednesday, December 27, 2006 in a local hospital. A funeral service, with Cody Whitfill and Michael Gerhart officiating, will be at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2006 in Broadview Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. There will be a visitation in the funeral home chapel from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Friday, December 29.
Doyle was born October 31, 1950 in Winters, Texas to John Thomas and Lillie Watson Sellers. He graduated from Ballinger High School in 1969. He married Pamela Tedford in Buffalo Gap, Texas on February 7, 1987. A diesel truck mechanic, he worked for Treanor Caterpillar and Odie's Truck Service for several years before establishing his own company, Doyle's Truck Service. A member of the Harley Owners Group (HOG), he was Secretary and Sergeant of Arms of the Big Country Chapter of Phoenix Motorcycle Club.
Preceded in death by his parents, Doyle is survived by: his wife, Pamela Sellers of Abilene; two sons, Nolan and wife Amber Sellers of San Angelo, Texas, and Cody Sellers of Abilene; a daughter, Leah and husband David Weinkauf of San Angelo; a step-daughter, Kimberly Bradshaw of Abilene; a brother, David and wife Laura Sellers of Winters, Texas; three grandchildren, Vallarie Weinkauf, Wyatt Weinkauf, and Jayden Sellers; two step-grandchildren, Britnee Weinkauf and Courtnie Weinkauf.
