John Paul Jarzombek, 77, of Abilene, Texas was called to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 6, 2016. John was born on June 25, 1939 in Mission, TX. He graduated from Edinburg High School, served his country in the Air Force and served our Lord as a Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Selma, TX prior to relocating to Abilene, TX to be closer to family.
John possessed a strong work ethic and was very disciplined in his ways. He loved his family, guiding his sons and daughter through their 4-H adventures and accomplishments and rebuilding cars with them. John was a devote catholic and over the years, an active parishioner of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in McAllen, TX, Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Selma, TX and Holy Family Catholic Church in Abilene, TX.
John is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Judy, his sons, John, James, Justin (Lizzie), and daughter, Julie (John). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ryan, Andi, Justin Michael, Ashley, Clay, Taylor, Jack, and Jake, great-grandchild, Carsten, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by both parents Stanley Anton Jarzombek & Mary Agnes (Pruski) Jarzombek, his brothers, Stanley Jarzombek, Dennis Jarzombek, Ray Jarzombek, and sister Eleanor Stritch.
A memorial mass will be held at noon on Saturday, December 10 at Saint Andrew Parish, 626 Market Street, Pleasanton, TX followed by a gathering for family in friends in the Parish Hall. Cremation arrangements are being made by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene.
