John Howard Easter, 86, died Monday, November 5, 2012 at Windcrest Alzheimer's Care Center in Abilene.
Born in Abilene, Texas on December 27, 1925, John was the son of the late Lola (Kelly) and Howard V. Easter. He graduated from Abilene High School, and after attending college taught Machine Shop at Borger High School in Borger, Texas and Abilene High School. He was a machinist, having owned and operated Easter Machines.
John married Edithe Mae Dobbyn Blandford on December 3, 1963 in Abilene. She preceded him in death on June 12, 2010. He was a member of Church of the Heavenly Rest, Episcopal and the John Sayles Masonic Lodge in Abilene.
Survivors include his sister, Lanelle Lucas of Euless, Texas; stepsons, Joe Blandford and Pat of Houston and David Blandford and wife Jane of Durango, Colorado; and stepdaughter, Suzanne Parker of Cypress, Texas.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 10, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene, with The Rev. N. Luke Back officiating. Visitation will immediately follow the service at the funeral home. Interment of his cremains will be in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories.
