John William Beale

1934 — January 19, 2021

John William Beale, 86, left his earthly home and entered his heavenly home on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. He was a dedicated Christian husband, father, and grandfather. Graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2021, 2 p.m., at Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 US-277, in Abilene, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. John was born in Cameron, Texas to John W. and Carrie Lee Beale on February 12, 1934. He graduated from Yoe High School in Cameron in 1954. He married his high school sweetheart Dorothy, on January 22, 1956. The couple moved to Abilene shortly after they were married. He worked 12 years for West Texas Utilities. In 1969, John entered the insurance business. He attained the highest achievements in the industry. He was a lifetime qualifying member of the Texas Leaders Roundtable and Million Dollar Roundtable. He made many friends in the business and the personal relationships he formed through business were the highlight of his career. John and Dorothy traveled extensively throughout his years in the business, where they made great memories and formed lifelong friendships. While John was successful in business, his true calling, and what was most important to him, was to be the best husband to Dorothy, father to Mark and Paul and grandfather to Brandon, Blair and Brooke. He loved his family dearly! John loved sports and coached little league and pony league while Mark and Paul were growing up. He was at every sporting event the boys played. He also enjoyed the fellowship of playing golf with friends. John and Dorothy were blessed with 63 years of marriage before she was called home in October of 2019. Every day, for the last year and a half, he longed to be with Dorothy. Oh what a sweet reunion they must be having! He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, where he served on many boards, Elder, Stewardship and Missions. He played an active role in relocating and working on the new church and family life center on Antilley Road. He had an unwavering commitment to God and his faith. John was preceded in death by his parents and 9 of his 11 siblings. He is survived by Mark and Lori, Paul, Brooke, Brandon and Paige, and Blair Beale and his brother, Leon Beale, of Kilgore, Texas.
