Joe E. Webb, 77, died Tuesday, December 2, 2014 in Abilene. The son of Mattie (Dalton) and Edd Webb, Joe was born on March 8, 1937 in Leach, Oklahoma, the youngest of five children. Reared in Graham, Texas, he was a 1955 graduate of Graham High School and attended Texas Tech College (now University) prior to enlisting in the U. S. Army. He married Patricia Ruth Rice on April 22, 1989 in Sherman, Texas, and moved from Sherman to Abilene 22 years ago. Joe was an industrial sales manager for IBT Industries, a company which designed conveyer systems. He was a member of First Christian Church in Abilene. When Joe was not with family, he was an avid outdoorsman, including hunting, fishing and golfing. He was preceded in death by one son, Daniel Joe Webb in 2006; his parents; and all of his siblings, two sisters and two brothers. Survivors include his wife, Pat Webb of Abilene; one son, David Webb and wife Amanda of San Antonio; two daughters and their husbands, Carla Murrin and Tim and Susan Fenley and Drew, all of Sherman; five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Cremation arrangements were selected with The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene. A graveside committal service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
